Arnold Badner created Jennies Macaroons in 1973. Named after his daughter, Jennies has continued to stay family focused since the beginning.

Arnold, fondly known as the Macaroon King, has a long history within the food business. His father, Hye Badner, had an office within Red Mill Factory, the same place we create our macaroons today. Hye Badner manufactured baking supplies, which was just the beginning of the Badner family business, as well as Arnold’s original inspiration.

In the 1970’s Arnold began researching and breaking into the heath food market. He had been creating macaroons for the General Nutrition Corporation (GNC). After learning about the health food industry he branded Jennies Macaroons and began marketing them. He traveled throughout the US educating colleagues about the benefits of coconut. Though experts have gone back and forth on whether or not coconut is beneficial, Arnold continues to be an original pioneer of coconut as a healthy ingredient. Finally, in 2005, mainstream researchers and dietitians accepted coconut as a healthy ingredient, rich in lauric acid.

Arnold Badner continues to run Red Mill Factory and produce several types of Jennies Macaroons on a daily basis. Stop by the factory and you can often find him packaging products and talking to clients. Arnold is also an avid marathon runner and tri-athlete. He and his daughters, Jenny and Lisa, manage all aspects of the business and continue living in the New York area.
